November 16th, 2022. We're delighted to welcome back Shepton Mallet Carnival tonight (16th November) after two long years away. The carnival parade will feature over 100 entries, these range from single masqueraders dancing in the streets to 100ft illuminated carnival carts, and all pulled by decorated tractors.

Access to properties during this period will be on a one way system, direction of travel is from the Charlton Traffic Lights to the Flock Roundabout. This road is being used to muster the carnival carts on arrival in Shepton Mallet. Wednesday 15th November, this road will then close again from *19.30 hrs until end of procession on Carnival night.

The Shepton Mallet Carnival that we have today, started back in 1965, and draws crowds of more than 10,000 supporters to watch the procession. The Guy Fawkes Circuit dates for 2024. Bridgwater - Saturday 2th November at 6:00pm. Burnham on Sea - Monday 4th November at 7:30pm. Weston-Super-Mare - Friday 8th November at 7:00pm.

The procession will start on Strawberry Way, after the roundabout and end at the roundabout on Priory Road.. Be aware that this years carnival will revert back to the Sherston Inn as the ending point.
